This comprehensive 26 minute video includes a series of pre-barre exercises to prepare the body for ballet barre so that students may get the most out of the combinations. There is also a preset of the principles during this time: the body is fully awake and aware, aligning the physical with the mental and emotional!
The key to these innovative and therapeutic warm-up exercises is lengthening the muscles from the base of the attachments to the bone and then expanding the muscles from the center of the fibrous tissue. With the wide variety of body shapes and sizes we work with, this warm-up series, called Therapeutic Barre, is of great assistance in bringing together both scattered minds and bodies at the beginning of class.
If you and your students only did one thing to begin to change the shape of your bodies, I would recommend you begin this 10-minute regimen daily.
